NEW - PRE-EXISTING CONDITION COVERAGE LIMITS TO 70 PLUS AGE GROUPS

The following changes are made to preserve the program and help many more families with pre-existing condition related emergencies. These changes come into force for policies start on or after January 1, 2010.

1. DEDUCTIBLE FOR PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS

A special deductible of $1,000 per incident has been introduced for any condition that falls under or claimed under pre-existing condition rider program. The deductibles for all new health problems remain same, i.e., $75 or $250 for 2-69 years old and $250 or $500 for 70 plus year old.

The new rider deductible applies to all age groups and all policies across the board. This change come into effect from January 1, 2010.

Rationale - this deductible is introduced as a cost containment measure to avoid increase in premium or reduction in benefits - the other alternatives. The loss ratios on our programs far exceeded after we started offering pre-existing condition coverage. Since no one else offers in the market place this kind of coverage, we may perhaps been experiencing adverse selection. We request all members to spread the word about this wonderful program that is helping many families for many years to continue. 2. INCREASED PRE-EXISTING COVERAGE LIMITS FOR 70 PLUS AND CONTINUE TO OFFER HIGHER LIMIT OF $20,000 FOR 2-69 YEAR OLDS.

As we all know, life expectancy in India has been increasing and many more are celebrating their 70th birthday (Life expectancy of Males : 67 years and Females: 72 years in 2009 (est)). However, insurance companies are reluctant to offer coverage based on actuarial experiences and health care conditions which vary widely in India. India Network is fortunate to have a substantial number of participants from all age groups which would enable us offer higher limits of coverage for 70 plus population. The new revised limits, effective from January 1, 2010 are as follows
